WHO AM I?
I am a Junior Engineer at Mighty Rabbit Studios based out of Raleigh, NC. I've always loved video games, and have enjoyed computer science and programming ever since I first took an online class in middle school. Software engineering for video games is the perfect blend of those two passions, and I've loved working on both personal game projects and game jam projects whenever I have the time.
In May 2024, I began work at Mighty Rabbit Studios, where I've had the pleasure of working on the game Cylinder: Puzzles Returned as a Junior Engineer. Joining this project in the middle of its development allowed me to jump right into an established codebase and look for ways to improve and build upon its systems. Through Mighty Rabbit I've gained experience working in the industry and on an established team, and I am very grateful for my chance to break into this industry that I've dreamed of working in for so long.
In May 2024 I also graduated Summa Cum Laude from NC State with a Bachelor's in Computer Science with a Concentration in Game Development. During my time at NC State, I was also the president of the Video Game Development Club at NC State, where we collaborated to create new games and mentor those who wanted to make games as well. Through this experience, I was been able to help teach many students about the fundamentals of game development and provide them with an environment of fellow developers and enthusiasts to help develop a strong network. In addition to some of my normal VGDC activities, I also hosted a charity live-streaming event through Extra Life at NC State which managed to raise at least $2000 for local children's hospitals two years in a row.
Lastly (and most importantly), I am a nerd to my very core. When I'm not playing or working on video games, I'm usually binge-reading the Wheel of Time series for the nth time, playing trombone in the NCSU Jazz Lab Band, or playing D&D with my friends. And my favorite time of the year is when I get to dress up for the Carolina Renaissance festival again to enjoy the jousts and add to my ever-growing sword collection (currently up to 9!).
